"The truest expression of a people is in its dance...
Bodies never lie."
-Agnes de Mille
Dance classes are focused on stretching and strengthening the body while facilitating personal expression through movement. Whether in Aerial Dance suspended from the ceiling, grounded in Ballet for Beginners or exploring range of motion and creativity in Contemporary, Improvisation or Composition, dance simultaneously exercises the long and short-term memories while providing a pleasurable outlet for stress and emotion, giving us a better awareness of our center while toning the muscles and increasing flexibility.
A study published by the New England Journal of Medicine led by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine conduced that stimulating one's mind by dancing can prevent Alzheimer's and other dementia, just as the physical exercise of dance keeps the body fit.
